Some workshops change with every season. Ours has not. The cutting table is the same one. The hands have changed, children, grandchildren, but the gesture, the patience, and the love of cloth have stayed exactly where they began.
The story of G. Inglese: sartorial tradition and innovation.
Founded in 1955 in Ginosa, Puglia, the family sartoria began with Nunziata, Angelo’s grandmother, and her sons Pietro and Gaetano. Widowed at a young age, Nunziata made bespoke shirts to support her family. Shirtmaking was then regarded as women’s work, so Pietro and Gaetano chose to help her by making tailored suits. Their home was also their workshop, where they worked alongside the apprentices they welcomed into the bottega.
Over the years, the workshop grew while preserving the essence of Italian artisanal craftsmanship. Giovanni, Angelo’s father, joined the family business after completing his studies and took responsibility for its administration. In the 1990s, following his father’s death when he was just 21, Angelo Inglese took the helm, developing the shirtmaking business and bringing its work to international markets.
Without ever leaving Ginosa, Angelo transformed a small-town atelier into an international benchmark for bespoke menswear and womenswear. He chose the name G. Inglese in memory of his father, Giovanni. The initial G. is a tribute to him.

The workshop

The bottega is also Nunziata’s home. She makes shirts while Pietro and Gaetano make tailored suits, with apprentices learning and working alongside them.
A new generation
Angelo takes the helm.
After losing his father at 21, Angelo takes the helm and develops the shirtmaking business abroad. The name G. Inglese honours his father, Giovanni.

Our garments are cut by hand and crafted using traditional sewing techniques, carefully selected hand-finishing and fine fabrics from Italian and international producers. The brand is chosen by style enthusiasts, celebrities, business leaders, and women seeking exclusivity and refined quality.
