The process

How it works

Three moments, in the same order a tailor would follow.

I

Measure

Enter the measurements requested in the configurator, including chest and waist, and select your fit. Follow the drawing and instructions for each field.

II

Compose

Collar model, cuff, placket, pocket and buttons. Then the personal touch: initials or a hand-embroidered motif.

III

Made in Ginosa

Cut, sewn and finished by hand in our Apulian atelier, then sent to you in a G. Inglese box.

A note from the atelier

Your measurements, our shirtmaking

Your made-to-measure shirt is cut and made in our Ginosa atelier using the same sartorial construction as our main collection. Sleeves are attached by hand, armholes and shoulder seams are hand-finished, buttonholes are worked by hand, and mother-of-pearl buttons are sewn with our lily stitch.

The base price varies with your choice of cloth, including our exclusive striped fabrics. The level of construction remains the same. Any additional charges for personalisation are shown during configuration.

You can contact the atelier for help with measurements, fit or fabric selection, and arrange a video call if needed.

Before you begin

How to measure

The configurator asks for every measurement one at a time, with a drawing for each. Keep a shirt that fits you well within reach and you are ready to begin.

  • 01Measure a shirt you already wear well, laid flat: it is more reliable than measuring yourself.
  • 02Button the shirt and smooth it out before taking chest and waist width.
  • 03Follow the arrows in the drawing of each step: every measurement is taken on the shirt, in centimetres.

Good to know

How does the made to measure process work?
Choose a cloth, then enter the measurements requested in the configurator, including chest and waist, following the drawings for each field. Select your fit, collar model, cuffs, placket, pocket and buttons, then add initials or an embroidery if you wish. Your shirt is cut and made in our Ginosa atelier.
Do I need to be measured in person?
No. You can enter your measurements at home by following the instructions and drawings in the configurator, including those for chest and waist. Keep a shirt that fits you well nearby and measure it as shown. If you need help, contact us to arrange a video call or an appointment at the atelier in Ginosa.
How much does a made to measure shirt cost?
Prices depend on the cloth, and currently range from 459 to 689 euro. The price shown on each fabric card is the price of the finished shirt in that cloth, including collar, cuff and finishing choices.
Can I add initials or an embroidery?
Yes. In the last step you can add hand-embroidered initials, choosing font, colour and placement, or one of our motifs: bee, olive tree, trullo, prickly pear and others.
How long do production and delivery take?
We ship internationally, including to the United States, with tracked UPS shipping. Production generally takes around two weeks after your order and measurements are confirmed, unless we communicate a different estimate for your shirt. Transport time starts after dispatch and is additional to production. UPS Express transit to the USA and Canada is estimated at two working days, subject to destination, carrier availability and customs clearance. Import duties, taxes and customs clearance charges are normally payable by the customer, unless included at checkout or otherwise agreed in writing. Where are the shirts made?
In Ginosa, Puglia, in the G. Inglese atelier, by the same hands that have been making shirts here since 1955. Nothing is outsourced.
