The process

How it works

Three moments, in the same order a tailor would follow.

Measure

Body size and fit, collar size, sleeve length. Use the numbers you already know, or follow the Size and Fit guide before you begin.

II

Compose

Collar model, cuff, placket, pocket and buttons. Then the personal touch: initials or a hand-embroidered motif.

III

Made in Ginosa

Cut, sewn and finished by hand in our Apulian atelier, then sent to you in a G. Inglese box.

A note from the atelier

Made to measure, not made complicated

Made to measure is our way of bringing you closer to the shirt you have in mind, without turning it into a long, confusing form. Each step exists for a reason, and you only see what you need at that moment.

You begin from what matters most: how the shirt sits on your body. Then proportion and balance, collar and sleeve. After that, style becomes personal.

We make shirts in Ginosa, in Puglia, where time keeps a different rhythm. Craft is not an image for us: it is daily work, made of hands, small decisions and respect for the cloth.

Before you begin

How to measure

The configurator asks for every measurement one at a time, with a drawing for each. Keep a shirt that fits you well within reach and you are ready to begin.

  • 01Measure a shirt you already wear well, laid flat: it is more reliable than measuring yourself.
  • 02Button the shirt and smooth it out before taking chest and waist width.
  • 03Follow the arrows in the drawing of each step: every measurement is taken on the shirt, in centimetres.

Good to know

How does the made to measure process work?
You choose a cloth from the collection, then the configurator opens: body size and fit, collar size and sleeve length, then collar model, cuff, placket, pocket and buttons, and finally initials or a hand-embroidered motif. Every shirt is cut and finished by hand in our Ginosa atelier.
Do I need to be measured in person?
No. The configurator works from standard body sizes plus collar and sleeve adjustments, and the Size and Fit guide explains how to take each measurement at home. If you prefer, you can visit the atelier in Ginosa and be measured by us.
How much does a made to measure shirt cost?
Prices depend on the cloth, and currently range from 459 to 689 euro. The price shown on each fabric card is the price of the finished shirt in that cloth, including collar, cuff and finishing choices.
Can I add initials or an embroidery?
Yes. In the last step you can add hand-embroidered initials, choosing font, colour and placement, or one of our motifs: bee, olive tree, trullo, prickly pear and others.
Where are the shirts made?
In Ginosa, Puglia, in the G. Inglese atelier, by the same hands that have been making shirts here since 1955. Nothing is outsourced.
